PRESS RELEASE:

January 12, 2009 - Franconia, New Hampshire

The Franconia Notch Chamber of Commerce held its 2010 Annual Dinner Meeting Tuesday evening, January 12th at the Best Western White Mountain Resort on Wallace Hill in Franconia.  Over 100 people attended the annual business meeting and silent auction event. The evening included a fine dining choice from the menu of Chef Joe's catering of Franconia.  Special guest for the annual event was George Bald, Commissioner of the New Hampshire Department of Resources and Economic Development who brought greetings and congratulations to the chamber for its outstanding contribution and endeavors in promoting Travel and Tourism and its important contribution to economic development. The Commissioner had much praise for John DeVivo, General Manager of Franconia Notch State Park, his staff and employees for the tremendous contribution to the continuing development of Cannon Mt. Ski Area"s re-construction and additonal development as well as the Mittersill restorative project now under the ownership of the state.  While pointing out the difficulties of today's economy and the importance of tourism to New Hampshire's economic success, Bald was quick to praise FNCC and President Frank Grima for their leadership in collaborative efforts with other chambers by working together to develop a North Country package filled with the specialties and strengths each chamber offers.  Entertainment for the evening was provided by the Speakeasy Jazz Trio.  President Grima's 2010 annual message can be read in its entiety here
